Postpartum Eating Habits Were Slowly Killing Me

I Was 80 lbs Overweight And Struggled To Play With My Kids

This is me December 2022. It feels like a different person. I remember how hard it was just to bend down to put on my shoes, pick up my children or do anything.

By Christmas I was 225lbs and having trouble with anything physical. I didn’t have a New Year’s resolution, I just became resolute. It was time for a change 👏

1st change: stop eating homemade cookie dough protein bombs. I was eating them morning and night. And NOT working out.

2nd change: Stop eating after dinner. Period.

That’s all I did in January 2023. I didn’t have a grand plan for a full transformation. I was just taking it a small change at a time.

Now I'm doing what God has willed me to do and share my story to the world. If I can inspire just one person to make the change to become healthier and happier, I will have achieved my goal of making a difference in this lifetime.

... Not Being Able To Breathe Was My Last Straw

As a mother of two very energetic boys under 3 I couldn't keep up. Simple tasks of carrying them to bed or playing on the floor with them left me out of breath.

My downfall was my insatiable postpartum cravings of what my husband dubbed "protein bombs" (hehe 🤭). These devilish morsels were protein packed cookie dough balls that I could not stop eating. Sure, protein is great for you; but the added sugar, hidden calories, and sedentary lifestyle I paired with them was a recipe for disaster.

Here Is What I Did To Drop 80lbs In 8.5 Months

  •  Stopped eating after dinner: Once the dinner was put away I didn't eat another thing. In addition, my meals where healthier and leaner. 
  • I got moving: I started slow at first with just walking. I then increased my activity levels and included weight training and more intense cardio.
  • I got hydrated: By cutting out the extra sugar from soda, juice and milk, I cut more hidden calories out of my diet.

It wasn't easy. I stumbled a few times along the way. But I kept telling myself that it was ok and picked back up right where I left off!

With the support of my loving husband and two sons, I'm grateful to have had the time to start these life changing habits.

Today I'm happy that I'm down over 80 lbs and in the best shape of my life. This would not have been possible if I had not made that mental commitment to change my habits and lifestyle.

Combined my hubby and I have lost 130+lbs 👏. We are getting functionally fit so we can be here for our great grandkids ❤️.

We make the health of our bodies and our marriage a priority FOR our kids 💙💚.
